fencing class details
GLENDALE CMA FENCING
Saturday 10:00AM–12:00PM
What and Where: The Glendale Center for the Martial Arts (CMA) has a Fencing Program for beginners held in the Harry Whiting Brown (HWB) Scout House.
Who: There is enough room in the Scout House for the concurrent training of 20 fencers. All ages are welcome. However, young children (~5+ to ~10) will need to clearly demonstrate an ability to follow instructions (primarily for safety), focus on drills, and not distract others.
First Class: A student’s first lesson will showcase the typical structure of a fencing class (stretching, foot-work, blade-work, group drills) and is FREE. From this, a student should be able to determine if he or she wants to continue.
Equipment: I will borrow equipment (masks and blades) for you to use on the first day. If you wish to continue with classes you will need to buy your own equipment (vendor information will be provided). After several months, if for some reason you do not want to continue lessons I will buy it back from you at an agreeable price (if properly maintained).
Cost: $5 per class. You pay only for each class you attend. Sometime in the near future individual lessons will be available from me, or from other experienced instructors, and would have a separate fee.
To Sign Up: Because of the limited number of students which can be accommodated please contact me with the name and age.
Thanks, and see you on the strip!
