"Contested Streets" documentary
Friday, November 4, 7:00 PM   Scout House

HWB will host a free screening of "Contested Streets," a documentary about public
transportation and American cities.  The show is free, and so is the popcorn!  (Madisono's
Gelato available for purchase.)  Please join your friends and neighbors for this examination of
the history of an issue that continues to affect our daily lives.
 HWB would like to show other
movies of local and general interest on occasional Friday movie nights, so please contact us if
you have rights to show a movie that you think would interest your neighbors.

Over-the-Rhine--When Beer Was King
Thursday, October 13  7:00 PM  Town Hall

The Glendale Community Library presents Michael Morgan author of Over-the-Rhine--When
Beer Was King
.  He will be speaking about the physical and cultural restoration of Over-the-
Rhine.   A book signing will take place after the presentation.

Following the presentation, there will be a social gathering with German refreshments and a beer
hall.


Monster Bash Benefit for former Troop 417 Scoutmaster Bob Flury
Saturday, October 22, 7:00 PM to midnight   Scout House

Bob has been active in the community as scout leader, musician, and concert organizer since
moving to Glendale.  He is undergoing treatment for cancer, and HWB and his many friends are
hosting a party to help raise funds for his family's expenses.  Join us for a rollicking good time
featuring music, food, beer, a costume contest, split the pot, silent auction and raffles.  
Suggested donation at the door.

Haunted Village Halloween Party        October 29  6-9 PM  Town Hall
HWB and the Cub Scouts once again organized the Glendale Halloween Party with costume
contests, games, the haunted maze, music and more.  Family friendly event!  Held at the Town
Hall at 80 E. Sharon Rd.


Story Time
Story Time is held in the Glendale Community Library at
HWB on the third Saturday of every month at 10:30 AM.

All concerts are free to the public and are held on the lawn of HWB Community Center (205 E.
Sharon Rd.) at 6 pm (unless otherwise noted). Bring lawn chairs or blankets, pack your favorite
picnic food and beverages, and join us for these great performances!

Get Fit Glendale 5K Walk/Run        July 30
Winding through the streets of beautiful Glendale, this fundraiser for HWB will be held
on Saturday July 30, 2011 at 9 am.  Bring the whole family out to get fit, promote a
healthy lifestyle, and support a great cause!  Thank you to our generous sponsors:  Jake

Shakespeare in the Park        August 14
Once again The Harry Whiting Brown Community Center and the Village of Glendale have
orchestrated the fifth outdoor presentation performed by the renowned Cincinnati Shakespeare
Company.  CSC is a professional theatre company dedicated to bringing Shakespeare and the
classics to life for audiences of all ages. This summer's presentation was Julius Ceasar.

Julius Caesar:   Friends turned into bitter enemies. Terrible prophesies fulfilled. And one of the
most famous deaths in history. William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar takes to the stage with a
timeless tale of power, politics, and passion.

Dog Day Afternoon        August 20
Dog Day Afternoon will be held August 20, 2011 (10 AM to 1 PM). This sixth annual event has
activities for dogs and their owners.

Shop and Swap      October 1
Saturday, Oct 1  buyers buyers will have the opportunity to purchase gently used children's
clothing, toys, baby/child gear and maternity clothes. If you are interested in selling or donating
items during our

Holiday Home Tour
The 2010 Holiday Home Tour was held on Saturday December 4, 2010.  The date for the 2012
Holiday will be announced in 2012.
